PHP でXMLをパースして配列にする方法

下記のサンプルはXMLをパースして配列にします。
実行確認出来るようにサンプルのため変数 $xml に直接XMLを入れていますが、ローカルファイルであれば file_get_contents を使用してファイルを取得してください。
